Overview
Sovdi Media partnered with Fort McMurray Economic Development and Ride North Moto teams to document a unique winter expedition: motorcyclists and support vehicles delivering dog food to SPCA facilities in some of Alberta’s most remote communities. The project required capturing the journey across challenging ice roads in extreme winter conditions, highlighting both the human story and logistical feat of the mission.
The Challenge
The expedition presented multiple challenges:
Remote northern locations with limited access
Extreme cold and hazardous ice-road conditions
Coordinating filming alongside moving motorcycles and support vehicles
Ensuring safety of the crew while capturing high-quality visuals
Condensing a complex, multi-day journey into compelling story content
Success depended on careful planning, adaptability, and creative problem-solving in unpredictable conditions.
